Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past

Someone pointed out that my recent blogs have been suspiciously low on the signature music references. I trust such neglect has now been adequately rectified by the above (which, of course, also alludes to Rocky III — although Rocky II was arguably the best film in the franchise… but then Rocky III did feature Mr T).

Anyway, back on track — this post is about working hard, with dedication, passion and commitment, combatting challenges, bouncing back from setbacks and holding your head high; always ready to celebrate achievements.
Well… here’s that celebratory post!
When I joined Russell Bedford International as CEO in 2017, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I was seeking a new role in my career following a challenging period, and saw an opportunity to develop a network that had a solid reputation for quality, but that could benefit from a refresh with new energy.
Nine years later, the network has grown by almost 150%, surpassing $1 billion in global revenues. We now have several more firms, many more people, an incredible culture, and a fantastic spirit across 100 countries worldwide.
It’s been a journey — one built on connections and collaboration, both for me personally and for Russell Bedford. Hence, I take immense pride in what we have achieved together. This progress reflects the strength of our people and our shared commitment to positive impact and excellence.
There’s a lot happening in our profession — rapid advancement in technology, evolving regulations, and new opportunities for growth.
And so… we went the distance, now we’re not gonna stop. Just an accounting network? No — it’s our will to survive.
